Homework is important
Below you will see the details of a new initiative to increase homework completion. If you already do all your homework, just keep doing what you do!
Daily Study Hall
- Scholars now have time to work on homework in homeroom.
- Scholars expected to be working to complete homework/class assignments
- Scholars may work with other scholars as long as they stay focused
- Homeroom teacher reserves the right to make study hall silent
- Scholars who do not have homework, must first show their homeroom teacher all completed assignments, then they may read their SSR book or work on an enrichment activity
- Scholars may seek help from another teacher – the scholar MUST have gotten a pass from the teacher they wish to see, prior to the start of SSR. Scholars will not be allowed to leave their homeroom without a pass. Scholars must be in the teacher’s room where they are seeking help by the time the bell rings, and must remain there for the remainder of the period.
Binder Organization
- Scholars must have and maintain a three-ring binder for their classes
- Teachers may check/grade these binders as needed
Agenda Books
- Teachers will take class time so scholars can write down their homework assignments.
- Scholars who are missing their agenda book may purchase a new one for $5
Homework Hall
- If a scholar does not turn in his/her homework, he/she will be given a homework hall slip and must report to homework hall that day after school.
- In homework hall, the scholar will work on any incomplete homework assignments for that day.
- Scholars who do not attend a required homework hall will receive a disciplinary consequence
Eagle Cup
- Scholars who successfully complete their homework will receive a ticket that can be turned in to their homeroom teacher. Points will be awarded to homerooms based on the number of tickets they accumulate every week.
- Other awards/recognition will take place to recognize those who are doing great!
- Tickets may be turned in for weekly raffles
